Benefits of Fluid Control Valves
The primary function of a check valve is to prevent hydraulic fluid from backflowing in the system. They are constructed with two ports, one acting as an inlet for oil and the other as an outlet. An internal spring determines to pressure required to open the check valve, often referred to as the cracking pressure. Anchor Fluid Power check valves are offered in 7 PSI and 65 PSI standard cracking pressures. Because this valve type permits media to flow in one direction, it’s commonly called a check, one-way, or non-return valve. Anchor Fluid Power check valves are a hard-seat design and should only be used for hydraulic applications.
The function of a needle valve is to control the flow of hydraulic fluid. Closing the knob of the needle valve reduces the internal orifice size, thus reducing the flow rate of oil in the line. Opening the knob of the needle valve increases the orifice size, thus increasing the flow rate of oil in the line. Anchor Fluid Power needle valves should not be used to close off flow completely. They are designed to meter the rate of flow only.
Flow control valves are similar in function to needle valves, however, they only control flow in one direction. Flow in the opposite direction is free, full, and not metered
Features of Anchor Fluid Power’s inline valves include:
Anchor Fluid Power is an ISO 9001, AS 9100D, and ISO 45001 certified provider of high-performance flanges, adapters, quick connect couplings, weld couplings, and valves for demanding fluid power applications. We produce inline valves and accessories in various sizes and configurations to meet your unique requirements. All inline valves are produced from zinc chromate-plated carbon steel, with check valves also available in stainless steel. Durable construction allows for lasting performance in harsh operating environments. Our zinc chromate-plated valves are RoHS-complaint, while our stainless steel valves offer much higher protection against corrosion and contamination. Standard connection types are NPTF and SAE.

Hydraulic Ball Valve Advantages
A ball valve is a shut-off valve that controls the flow of fluid using a rotating ball with a bore in its center. Connected to the ball is a stem, which rotates to open or close the valve. It can be turned on using manual levers or automation. The handle direction is typically aligned to show the flow path of the fluid.
Hydraulic Ball valves should never be used as a load-holding device.
Hydraulic Ball valves are often favored over other types of shut-off valves due to their reliable and long service life at high operating pressures.
Some notable characteristics of ball valves include:

Four-bolt hydraulic flanges have long been a trusted connection for demanding high-pressure mobile and industrial applications. The four-bolt flange design uses four fasteners to draw two mating flanges together. One of the flanges contains a captive O-ring and the other a smooth machined surface, often referred to as flat-faced. The four fasteners slip through the drilled clearance holes of the O-ring flange and screw into the threaded holes of the flat-faced flange. When the four fasteners are tightened, the O-ring compresses against the flat-faced flange, resulting in a leak-free connection. This type of connection allows the load to be distributed across the four fasteners, reducing the likelihood of joint failure due to system vibration. The o-ring and flat face flange connections can be manufactured as a one-piece design or as multiple components where split or captive flanges work in conjunction with a flange head fitting.
Carbon Steel Hydraulic Flange Grades & Finishes
Flanges are generally produced in carbon and stainless steel, though also occasionally in aluminum, alloy, or other exotic metals if the application requires it. Since tensile and yield strengths vary between material types, it is important to verify that maximum working pressures are not affected by the material selection.
Typical grades of carbon steel are AISI 1018, AISI 1020, AISI 1045, or similar. Though many OEMs paint the entire hydraulic system after fabrication is complete, plating or other finishes can be applied to improve the corrosion resistance and prolong the life of the flange in the field. Most carbon steel flanges are sold in natural finish with a light oil dip while some may come standard with silver trivalent plating.
Flanges play a vital role in fluid power systems, making it possible to connect pumps, valves, pipes, and other components. Improve your system’s performance with high-quality carbon steel flanges from Anchor Fluid Power.
Advantages Of Carbon Steel Hydraulic Flanges
This flange type is comprised of carbon steel hydraulic flanges, which is renowned for exhibiting tight sealing and robust toughness at a more affordable price than other steel alloys. Other characteristics of this hydraulic flange type include:
